Game Notes

Toronto, ON (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The National Hockey League fined Philadelphia Flyers center Zac Rinaldo $5,000 on Saturday. The fine stems from two plays during Saturday's game against New Jersey, which the Devils won, 6-4.

Rinaldo received a minor for interference on the play involving Josefson, but was not assessed a penalty on the play against Parise.

Jared Spurgeon had the last chance for Minnesota, but Kari Lehtonen made a stop on the wrister for the win.

Mike Ribeiro scored the lone goal for the Stars, who have won three of four. Lehtonen made 33 saves in the win.

The Wild, though, tied the game 5:18 into the third as a turnover in the Dallas end saw Brodziak wind up with the puck and skated to the low right side to get Lehtonen out of position for his 15th of the season.

Game Notes

Martin Erat had a goal and two assists for the Predators, who have won all four of their meetings with St. Louis this season. Sergei Kostitsyn and Mike Fisher also lit the lamp.

Jaroslav Halak stopped 34-of-36 shots in the loss.

The Predators scored a power-play goal at the 6:59 mark of the first period. Erat's blast from the right point got past Halak.

MySportsbook.com Posts Heisman Trophy Odds

With 3,919 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and a mere seven interceptions last season, combined with a powerful South Bend Heisman legacy, odds makers at MySportsbook.com have given Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn the best Heisman Trophy odds at 5-2.

Quinn isn’t the only big man on campus this season.  Oklahoma junior running back and 2004 Heisman runner-up Adrian Peterson, listed at 7-2, rushed for a combined 3,033 yards in his first two years as a college player and will give Quinn a run for his money.

This online sportsbook has also listed Troy Smith, Ohio State senior quarterback, as another strong favorite to win the 72nd Heisman Trophy.  A 7-1 bet, Smith threw for 2,282 yards last season and also led the Buckeyes to a convincing 34-20 victory over Quinn and the Fighting Irish in last season’s Fiesta Bowl.
