Kim leads Longs Drugs by one; Ochoa lurking two back

10/10/2008 - Danville, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - In-Kyung Kim carded a three-under 69 in cold, windy conditions Friday to move into the lead after two rounds of the Longs Drugs Challenge at Blackhawk Country Club.

Kim completed the first 36 holes at eight-under-par 136.

Mollie Fankhauser carded a four-under 68 to move into second place at minus- seven.

Women's world No. 1 Lorena Ochoa weathered the worst of the conditions Friday afternoon and carded a 68 of her own to move into third at six-under-par 138. Angela Stanford used a 69 to move into fourth at minus-five.

"It was a tough day. Just no other words for it, it was a tough day," Ochoa said.

Kim got going with a chip-in birdie on the first. She came back with birdies on the third and fifth to move to minus-eight.

After a pair of pars, Kim made birdie at the eighth.

"Yeah, I started with a good birdie. Chipped it in on No. 1, so it was a really good start," said Kim. "I had some really good saves on the front side also."

Kim gave that stroke back with a bogey on the 10th. She closed with eight straight pars to hang on to the lead.

"I mean, it was really cold this morning," Kim said of the weather. "I just wanted to go out there and do my best. The wind picked up on the back nine. I left some putts out there, but I also had some good saves."

Fankhauser wrapped birdies at six and eight around a bogey on the seventh. On the back nine, she birdied No. 10, but gave that shot back with a bogey at 12.

The 27-year-old birdied three of four holes from the 14th to jump into second place at minus-seven. Fankhauser, whose best finish is a tie for seventh at the Bell Micro LPGA Classic, parred the last to secure second place.

"I was fortunate to make more putts today," admitted Fankhauser. "I just tried to keep it simple...Nothing spectacular, just kind of made some putts."

Ochoa dropped a shot on the first, but bounced back with a birdie on two. After a bogey at the fourth, Ochoa eagled the par-five fifth.

The Mexican climbed to minus-five with birdies at seven and nine. Around the turn, Ochoa bogeyed 12 and 14, but birdied three of the last four holes to get back within two of Kim's lead.

Defending champion Suzann Pettersen managed an even-par 72 and is tied for fifth at four-under-par 140. She was joined there by Charlotte Mayorkas (71), Yani Tseng (72) and Kristy McPherson (70).

The cut line fell at six-over-par 150 with 78 players advancing to the weekend. Among those who missed the cut were Patricia Meunier-Lebouc, Lorie Kane and Birdie Kim.

Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Odds

Will he or won't he?  Now that the Dallas Cowboys have a new head coach in Wade Phillips, the big question will be: Does Terrell Owens stay with the team.

Jerry Jones continues to suggest that Terrell Owens will remain with the team.

"I've said that he's back, he's here, he's under contract," Jones said. "In the interviews I've just been through (to hire a new coach), it was very clear to me how highly he's thought of and how much of an impact he had on our offensive success."

Just to be sure though, Terrell Owens cleared out his locker and removed his name plate.

Terrell Owens was among the Cowboys most productive players this past season, catching 85 passes for 1,180 yards and a league-best 13 touchdowns.

But T.O. is due a $3 million roster bonus in June, then a $5 million salary this season. Cutting him before then would save a lot of money and headaches.

Aside from the questions surrounding Terrell Owens, the oddsmakers at MySportsbook.com have concerns over starting quarterback Tony Romo's state of mind and whether he will remain a starting quarterback.  It is also not known how players will adjust to new head coach, Wade Phillips.

Here are the football odds as seen at MySportsbook.com and subject to change after February 10, 2007 if not locked in prior to that date.
