"We are happy to add Sean to the Lightning roster today," Tampa Bay vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman said. "He is a competitive left winger who is also a solid two-way player. We believe he is a good addition to our team."
The 26-year-old Bergenheim was taken with the 22nd overall pick in the 2002 NHL draft by the New York Islanders. In his tenure on Long Island, the 5-foot-10 205-pounder has tallied 40 goals and 40 assists over 246 career games.
